Located on the northern slopes of Mt. Aso, which has one of the largest calderas in the world, Minamioguni is a town in which you sense people living in harmony with the natural world around them. The district includes the source area of the Chikugo river, the biggest in Kyushu, and the village of Kiyora, whose name means "purity and beauty". In Minamioguni can also be found tasteful hot springs like Kurokawa Onsen, Oda Onsen, Shirakawa Onsen, and Tanohara Onsen. Minamioguni is set among beautiful, natural scenery and sight-seeing opportunities.
